ISRAELI SUPPORT FOR BOYCOTT IS GROWING Desertpeace

ISRAELI SUPPORT FOR BOYCOTT IS GROWING Desertpeace

Just when Israel could not look blacker, considering the Israeli regime's recent high seas "policies", promising dissent grows from within Israel itself.

We often hear about Israel and the US being trusted allies and friends forever, etc. This of course refers to political and military relationships. Even the Web "truth sites" concentrate more on Israel's military side. There is certainly enough there to warrant criticism and suspicion.

We don't hear much about what is going on with some of the people within Israel. With regard to the Israeli government's recent piracy and killings surrounding aid ships to Gaza, the people are all too aware of what is going on, and some of them are waking up to harsh realities, much as people in the US are.

Watch this interview with Israeli activist Ofer Neiman:
"So many Israelis are profiting from the occupation ...the major portion is based on social security, or the military industry, and when you have militarization in Tel Aviv, and Israel in general, many people are enjoying high standards of living like in the West. they have no incentive to change reality The official narrative is so bigoted and hippocritical, and even infantile, about Israel being the eternal victor even when Israel is commiting an act of piracy on the high seas, that there are very disturbing elements on the public discourse... We don't have a choice. The Israeli policy makers are cynical people, brutal people. i m ean, they only understand the language of force. This is in the interests of Israeli society. This is Hell and it is going to get worse, I mean Even people who are having a good life here...it's not going to work for a long time...they're sitting on a volcano I hope that the pressure applied will be effective and that Israeli policy makers will realize that the occupation comes with a price tag, and will realize that they have no choice but to end the occupation">this interview with Israeli activist Ofer Neiman, tallking to AIC (Alternative Information Center) in Israel.

This movement represents a major chink in the armor. Just as the Berlin wall fell, so will the Israeli occupation, and I believe it will not be long.

Some highlights from the interview:

(Re: why some Israelis have not joined the movement)
"So many Israelis are profiting from the occupation...the major portion is based on social security, or the military industry, and when you have militarization in Tel Aviv, and Israel in general, many people are enjoying high standards of living like in the West. They have no incentive to change reality..."

(sounds familiar)

Re: the recent piracy incident:
"The official narrative is so bigoted and hypocritical, and even infantile, about Israel being the eternal victor even when Israel is committing an act of piracy on the high seas, that there are very disturbing elements on the public discourse..."

(Re: change and ending the occupation):
"We don't have a choice. The Israeli policy makers are cynical people, brutal people. I mean, they only understand the language of force.
"This (ending the occupation) is in the interests of Israeli society. This is Hell and it is going to get worse, I mean, even people who are having a good life here...it's not going to work for a long time...they're sitting on a volcano..."

(sounds familiar)

"I hope that the pressure applied will be effective and that Israeli policy makers will realize that the occupation comes with a price tag, and will realize that they have no choice but to end the occupation..."

* * *

It is important to realize that the populations of countries, the people, have more in common than the media portrays, and that 99.9% of what we receive in media form, news, TV, movies, etc. is heavily filtered propaganda, distorted information (ie. disinformation).

Filter the false. Listen to your heart, not "theirs."

Obama Warns Of 'Massive Layoffs Of Teachers, Police, And Firefighters'

Obama Warns Of 'Massive Layoffs Of Teachers, Police, And Firefighters'

President Obama told Republican and Democrat congressional leaders "We need $50 Billion or else..." (or else, as the headline says, it's the axe...)

This ought to be rather disturbing news. That it is not - to me anyway - is a telling sign of the times. My reaction is not surprise or horror, but chagrin. Actually I have two reactions to this comedy, which is what it really is. (remember, in theater, tragedy and comedy are two masks, two sides of the same coin)

1. What about eliminating some very expensive budget allowances to insure that more important programs like those that fund teachers, police and firefighters are not threatened? Which programs? Oh, well, let's see, how about the DOD budget for starters? Next, how about eliminating the Federal Reserve? I think it has been demonstrated over and over again that we don't need it, and that we are better off without it. There are plenty of others...

2.Here's an idea! Since there is no real money out there anyway - its all fake, remember? Manufactured out of thin air and electronic numbers, no gold or silver or anything really valuable, thanks to the Federal Reserve (and President Nixon in 1972). Therefore there is no debt, only people and institutions angrily demanding payback of something that doesn't really exist. And it was never really "borrowed" in the first place because how could it have been borrowed if it didn't really exist?

Wow, I never realized economics was so simple.

This is real comedy.

Are we laughing yet?

"Battered" Israel relieved to take back seat on Iran sanctions - CSMonitor.com

Battered Israel relieved to take back seat on Iran sanctions - CSMonitor.com

Here is a good example of media propaganda.
The headline reads "Battered" Israel. The date is June 9, 2010, Christian Science Monitor. There is even a very good picture of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu looking woebegone, pleading - (although extremely well-dressed) - and appropriately "embattered."

Only one problem.

I read the article. Nowhere else in the article does it mention "battered" Israel or why Israel is "battered," or how Israel got battered.

As the whole world now knows, it is Israel who has been doing the "battering."

This is on the tails of the recent "battering" that Israel gave to the the main boat of a Gaza-bound aid flotilla, the Turkish-flagged Mavi Marmara last week, in which several crew and international passengers were killed or wounded.

How many were killed? Thanks to Israel's efficient "cleanup" afterward, no one is certain. Israel has said it will be conducting its own investigation into the incident and needs no help in doing so from the rest of the world, so not to worry. If there has been any foul play, Israel will be sure to let us know. To read an article emphasizing Israel's reassurance, click here.

But here's the varied tally so far according to four different news media. Click on each link for the original stories:
15 peace activists
nine passengers
at least 20 people
Up to 16 people

But never mind all the murders. I digress...

Instead the article talks about sanctions against Iran, same old subject. Only Israel is "relieved" to take the back seat on Iran sanctions and leave things to the United States.

This is a relief? Israel has always been the proverbial back seat driver. Israel is and has always been adamant that the United States be more forceful about Iran sanctions. Why? Because the Israeli regime will not dare take on Iran alone. Israel knows it is outmatched in any confrontation with Iran using conventional weapons. Israel could nuke Iran, of course, but only if Israel had nuclear weapons. Apparently they don't have any because Israel has been telling us for years that they don't have any, no matter what any other country's intelligence says.

We can believe them because as Hillary Clinton and the whole Obama gang keep reminding us, Israel is our "trusted ally."

Thank God someone is our trusted ally. We don't even trust England as much as we trust Israel. But then, of course, in the beginning, we left England to come here, didn't we...and of course we have England to thank for the Balfour Declaration that started the whole ball rolling.

Looking For An Ass To Kick In the Gulf

.
"The buck stops here..." - President Harry Truman
"...I know whose ass to kick." - President Barack Obama
**
"I don't sit around just talking to experts because this is a college seminar. We talk to these folks because they potentially have the best answers, so I know whose ass to kick," Obama fumed in an interview to air this morning(June 8, 2010) on NBC's "Today" show.

Go figure. With regard to the Gulf oil spill, Obama wants “an ass to kick.” Presumably to visibly show the world how upset he is by this corporate blunder, and probably to save face for responding too slowly.

Is he this upset by the loss of thousands of lives due to the wars he inherited and is keeping alive? The blood of thousands is gushing and billowing as surely and unstoppably as the oil in the gulf.

  • Why is the President not looking for an ass to kick regarding the list of wars we are involved in?
  • Why is the President not looking for an ass to kick regarding our deplorable and financially draining relationship with our “trusted” ally Israel?
  • Why is the President not looking for an ass to kick regarding the Federal Reserve, Goldman Sachs, and general Bailout debacle?
  • Why is the President not looking for an ass to kick regarding _______________ (Add your own if desired)

Where has real integrity gone? Where has responsibility gone? What has happened to priorities?

Priorities are dictated by how much money we are losing.
Billowing blood is profitable. Billowing oil is not. Simple as that.
Oil, as the President is publicly demonstrating, is thicker than blood.
