ISRAELI SUPPORT FOR BOYCOTT IS GROWING Desertpeace
Just when Israel could not look blacker, considering the Israeli regime's recent high seas "policies", promising dissent grows from within Israel itself.
We often hear about Israel and the US being trusted allies and friends forever, etc. This of course refers to political and military relationships. Even the Web "truth sites" concentrate more on Israel's military side. There is certainly enough there to warrant criticism and suspicion.
We don't hear much about what is going on with some of the people within Israel. With regard to the Israeli government's recent piracy and killings surrounding aid ships to Gaza, the people are all too aware of what is going on, and some of them are waking up to harsh realities, much as people in the US are.
Watch this interview with Israeli activist Ofer Neiman:
"So many Israelis are profiting from the occupation ...the major portion is based on social security, or the military industry, and when you have militarization in Tel Aviv, and Israel in general, many people are enjoying high standards of living like in the West. they have no incentive to change reality The official narrative is so bigoted and hippocritical, and even infantile, about Israel being the eternal victor even when Israel is commiting an act of piracy on the high seas, that there are very disturbing elements on the public discourse... We don't have a choice. The Israeli policy makers are cynical people, brutal people. i m ean, they only understand the language of force. This is in the interests of Israeli society. This is Hell and it is going to get worse, I mean Even people who are having a good life here...it's not going to work for a long time...they're sitting on a volcano I hope that the pressure applied will be effective and that Israeli policy makers will realize that the occupation comes with a price tag, and will realize that they have no choice but to end the occupation">this interview with Israeli activist Ofer Neiman, tallking to AIC (Alternative Information Center) in Israel.
This movement represents a major chink in the armor. Just as the Berlin wall fell, so will the Israeli occupation, and I believe it will not be long.
Some highlights from the interview:
(Re: why some Israelis have not joined the movement)
"So many Israelis are profiting from the occupation...the major portion is based on social security, or the military industry, and when you have militarization in Tel Aviv, and Israel in general, many people are enjoying high standards of living like in the West. They have no incentive to change reality..."
(sounds familiar)
Re: the recent piracy incident:
"The official narrative is so bigoted and hypocritical, and even infantile, about Israel being the eternal victor even when Israel is committing an act of piracy on the high seas, that there are very disturbing elements on the public discourse..."
(Re: change and ending the occupation):
"We don't have a choice. The Israeli policy makers are cynical people, brutal people. I mean, they only understand the language of force.
"This (ending the occupation) is in the interests of Israeli society. This is Hell and it is going to get worse, I mean, even people who are having a good life here...it's not going to work for a long time...they're sitting on a volcano..."
(sounds familiar)
"I hope that the pressure applied will be effective and that Israeli policy makers will realize that the occupation comes with a price tag, and will realize that they have no choice but to end the occupation..."

It is important to realize that the populations of countries, the people, have more in common than the media portrays, and that 99.9% of what we receive in media form, news, TV, movies, etc. is heavily filtered propaganda, distorted information (ie. disinformation).
Filter the false. Listen to your heart, not "theirs."
